Today I want to pout

Today I just want to whine so if that's not what you're looking for, feel free to come back tomorrow.

It is bugging the crap out of me that no one ever comes to my house to visit. If I want to see anyone I have to go to their houses. Sure, they come over if I have a scheduled event but just to hang out on Friday night? Nope, not gonna happen. If I don't go to their homes I don't get to see them.

Sometimes I understand. Some of my friends have husbands and I don't, so their hubby's don't want to come and hang out. What I don't understand is why they won't come alone?

My single friends, it's the same thing. I understand the ones who have young kids, there is nothing for little kids to do at my house, I have a teenage girl, we don't have lots of toys.

I love my home and love spending time in it. I think I just need to change the rules. If you are looking for me, I'll be upstairs pouting. Maybe tomorrow I'll want to play again.

  1. Better be careful, us out of towners may just come to visit and not go home. My little tweens (notice not toddlers anymore) would find something to do at your house while we played catch up over the last 8 years or so..lol. Marsi

  3. I'm joining you in the whine-party (and I've brought wine! See what a good guest I am?). Our FAMILY never comes to visit - despite the fact that we live half-way between them all. But yet, they seem to find themselves visiting each other on a regular basis. In fact, my niece is going to school about 2 hours from here - and he visits often - we've yet to see either one.

  4. oh Carol, if I were only still in Salt Lake. I would come over so often you could claim me as a dependent. But a 3,200 mile commute is a little tough. Love ya anyway. Michael C.

  5. Carol, if it ain't one thing it's another! I have a couple of neighbor women who turn up at my house (no phone call, no warning) a couple of times a week. While I like them, the timing is sometimes inconvenient and I feel bad if I say "no time to visit right now". When I'm bored out of my gourd, you got it, nobody comes over and nobody calls either. You just can't win with this one!
